About Our Church

Steuben Congregational United Church of Christ is affiliated with The Northwest Ohio Association of the United Church of Christ, the Heartland Conference and the wider church headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. We are an open and affirming church serving all no matter where you are on your faith’s journey.

Steuben recently celebrated it’s 200th birthday serving God’s people. Located in the northwest corner of Steuben Square, we are a mission minded congregation participating in providing disaster buckets and personal hygiene kits which are distributed through the mission arm of Church World Services to victims of tornadoes, earthquakes, fires, and floods, as well as areas suffering from famines and war.

We offer Children’s Sunday School classes, Youth Confirmation Classes, and Adult Bible Study Classes. Our worship services begin at 10 a.m. on Sundays with various other services at special times around the church calendar.

Services are Bible based following the revised Common Lectionary that is published by Vanderbilt University with a few exceptions.

Though our congregation is small, it is accepting, loving, and faithful. We recognize two sacraments in the United Church of Christ, the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, and the Sacrament of Holy Communion. We also recognize the following rites: marriage, funerals, gifts of the Spirit,, and services of healing.

Though we are affiliated with the wider church, each church is independent in its worship and daily operations. We are self-governing and self-sustaining with deacons and elders leading the way. We rely on the help of God to guide the way.

We encourage you, if you are seeking a church home, to join us on any Sunday at 10 a.m..

Dress is casual and worship is filled with God’s love and the love generated by the people of Steuben U.C.C..

May the blessings of grace and peace, love and joy from God above surround you today and everyday of your life. Amen.
